Dear CWA Families, Friends, and Benefactors,
As evidenced by your generosity, Charles Wright Academy celebrated a major milestone in its history as Headmaster Rob Camner retired in June 2016 after two decades of healthy and successful growth. You will see in the 2015-2016 Annual Report that Charles Wright Academy is stronger than ever, and the generosity of our community continues to support our growth and future aspirations.
Six hundred and fifty-one donors (80 of them new) raised almost $460,000 for the Fund for Charles Wright Academy—and, on top of that, 140 donors contributed more than $470,000 to the Robert Camner Fund for Faculty, a newly established endowed fund dedicated to recruiting and retaining remarkable teachers. Talk about making a statement. Rob’s commitment to finding, hiring, and working with the best and brightest teachers reinforced his dedication to students, who are the beneficiaries of our fine educators. It’s part of why the Board of Trustees decided to rename our campus’s most recent addition in his honor, and in June the Robert A. Camner Language and Performing Arts Center was dedicated at Rob’s retirement party.
I officially joined the CWA community just four short months ago, and from day one I have seen firsthand your authenticity, warmth, and commitment to care. It is with deepest gratitude that I thank you for your support and devotion to this school, our teachers and staff members, and—most importantly—our students, present and future.
We hope reading about the impact your giving has made brings you great joy, and I am excited to join with you in the Tarrier culture of philanthropy for years to come. Thank you.
