Dear CWA Families, Friends, and Benefactors,
By many measurements, the Charles Wright community is a generous one. Families and friends give of their time and resources—and they give from their heart. Each of us has different amounts we can give, but as evidenced by the nearly 30 percent increase in the total number of donors during the 2016-2017 academic and fiscal year, even more of our community is giving to the school. In fact, last year marked the first time in school history that we celebrated 100 percent employee participation in the Annual Fund.
This generosity and growth in number of givers both are a demonstration of the joy of giving to Charles Wright Academy and also serve as the foundational basis for the hours of volunteer work given by our Parent Association, room reps, committee members, Spirit Auction volunteers, Arts Boosters, Sports Boosters, and Trustees. The cumulative impact of this giving and the effect on the student experience is incalculable. And in the end, all that we give, from time to resources to tuition, is toward the end of an incredible student experience. Every student, every day.
As you dive more deeply into the healthy numbers in our 2016-2017 Annual Report, we also want to call your attention to the volunteer work of the Board of Trustees, who dutifully and diligently oversee the school finances, and the business operations staff, who carefully manage the dollars in support of the work the faculty perform each day to curate our great program that serves our student experience.
So to each of you we say, “thank you.” A culture of philanthropy is a value we want to imbue our children with, and the sustaining of such a culture takes constant attention to our mission and vision of building and guiding children into adults who will make a positive difference in the world. Thank you.
